Post Secondary Volleyball

Before venturing into the world of playing Volleyball after High School, both parents and the student athlete needs to get informed about the type of programs, as well as the differences which exist at the post secondary playing field in Canada and the USA.

Right here we are providing you with a path to get first hand information:

Below we have compiled various websites and links that will provide you with detailed information we feel you as a team (student athlete and parents) need to visit, read and understand to really be informed about what the expectations are on the journey toward this incredible opportunity.

Please follow these steps in order… thank you:

1. A College & University Information Guide provided by the Alberta Volleyball Association
This document will provide you with all the information needed for a strong basic understanding as to what is required when getting started with the process of looking for a post-secondary playing opportunity.

2. Canada First: Canadian University Women’s Volleyball Information Guide
This document will provide coaches, parents and university bound student-athletes with an information guide showcasing what Canadian university volleyball has to offer future university student-athletes. The handbook describes scholarships available to student-athletes, explains what is special about each university volleyball program, and outlines what an athlete who is interested in playing at a Canadian university should do.

3. The Rich Kern Recruiting Registry – Recruiting Time Line
This site will provide you with an overview what you as a team should do especially if you are interested in a playing opportunity in the USA.

4. The Rich Kern Registry – Home Page
The home page of Rich Kern will be able to provide and guide you through many steps and pieces of information needed to pursue the hunt for a scholarship in the USA. This site is free and the student athlete can register, be exposed and accessible to many recruiters from all over the 50 States in the USA.

5. The Rich Kern Registry – Recruiting FAQ
This page is critical especially when searching for understanding and pursuing scholarship and/or playing opportunities in the USA.

6. Winning a US College Sport Scholarship for Canadians
This is a must read site for any team that is interested in pursuing exactly that. It is an excellent resource and will shed light on the do’s and don’ts of the recruiting process.

7. Recruiting Camps in Canada There are camps or teams offered in Canada which will provide the student athlete with the opportunity to showcase her talent to North American recruiters.

     A. The Prospects Camp in Saskatchewan
     B. Volleyball Prospects Camps in Canada

8. Recruiting Agency The other opportunity rather than going to camps and hoping to be discovered is simply using a recruiting agency. This can be done as well in addition to using camps or exclusively.

     A. National Scouting Report
     B. Scouting Solutions
     C. Ivy Recruiting

Here at High Performance Volleyball Club we firmly believe that the athlete and the family need to do the research together. As a club we will support the plan with our coaches, administrators as well as the club experts on the recruiting process by providing input and guidance in the best interest of our student athlete.

Together we will make a plan and lay the foundation for your road to a post secondary experience providing the ability, academic standing and the character of the student athlete fit the program needs.

We are looking forward to making this a complete team (student athlete, family, coaches and club administration) effort and process.
